An extremely amateur cupcake baker takes on the "Hello Cupcake" cookbook to see if it's statement, "cupcakes that anyone can make", holds true.

Visions of Cupcakes Dance in My head
1 day to cupcake #1!!!! As I sit and watch the Aggie's/lsu game I can only think of my cupcakes!!! My neighbor (HUGE LSU FAN) goes out and blows his family horn (some loud sheep's horn kind of thing) every time they score. It is very distracting when a loud horn blows every time you try to think through a recipe. Well prepare to see cupcakes tomarrow.

Owls are almost ready to Hatch!
If you read the count down you might have seen that I'm starting the owl cupcakes (they are simple and I like owls). I went to the grocery yesterday. They were out of junior mints so I need to pick those up, but then I will have everything to make my cakes. I plan on making them Saturday, January 8th. Since the book only has measurements for large quantities of cupcakes I plan on maybe having some friends over to share. SO EXCITED!

I bought the "Hello Cupcake" cookbook about a week ago. I always watched cake and cupcake shows on the food network, and I decided that it was my turn to get into the business. I was intrigued, not only by the adorable cupcakes on the cover, but by the fact that it was a no skills required cookbook. This was good for me in the fact that I really had NO skills. The only cake baking I've ever done is mixing the batter while my mom was working on another element of the cake, and I have never decorated or even iced a cake of any kind. Now I have decided to bake my way through this whole book hopefully by 2012, but I really don't have a time limit. After I finish a cupcake I will record it by making a small clay model of it (something I know that I can do). And now with this post finished, let the baking and blogging BEGIN!
